RF cage installations
Envirotect specialises in designing, delivering and installing RF Cages. As all projects are unique, our team excels in conducting installations in operational buildings with minimal disruption to staff and patients.
Each installation is completed to the highest standards by our experienced team, all of whom are trained in the basics of first aid, fire safety and manual handling.
Depending on the type of magnet and site conditions, Magnetic Steel Shielding may be required.
Envirotect offers services to calculate the required shielding and provide a comprehensive report with modelling data and calculations for 5 Gauss containment. Should shielding be necessary, it will be the initial step in the installation process.
Our RF Cage is manufactured from electrically deposited copper fixed to a modular timber frame for stability, following strict quality control procedures throughout the design, manufacturing and installation process.
Each cage is customised to meet specific site requirements, with detailed drawings submitted for approval prior to production. The framework for the cage is manufactured in panels at our facility and then transported to site and then assembled on-site by our installation team.
All electrical cables, medical gas pipes and other necessary supplies are discreetly routed through wall cavities. Penetrations for services are shielded or fitted with filters to prevent any leaks.
Our RF floor is constructed by first laying down an isolation layer of bitumen felt, dpm or similar isolating material, followed by a layer of MDF as a base for wide copper strips that are soldered together to form one seamless surface. Once the wall and ceiling panels are in place, tongue and groove chipboard is used to cover the copper floor.
Acoustic insulation is added to the cavities of the RF copper wall panels, with an additional layer on top of the RF ceiling panels for soundproofing.
Wall panels are fitted with timber furring at 600mm intervals to create a cavity for initial electrical and medical gas installations, allowing the contractor to complete their finishes.
Our RF doors are designed to deliver consistent, low maintenance performance in the most demanding MRI facilities. Our door meets the required RF attenuation standards and feature a durable high-pressure laminate finish.
Available in a standard single leaf design, the door offers a generous 1200mm x 2100mm clear opening.
RF Window
Our RF control window is constructed with an aluminium frame and features a thin layer of blackened copper mesh, along with a double layer of safety glass for optimal visibility.
The standard dimensions for this window are 900mm x 1200mm, but other sizes can be accommodated upon request.
Envirotect offers a variety of filters and waveguides for connection to our RF cage. These components are standard in all projects unless otherwise specified.
As part of our installation process, RF tests are conducted in adherence to European standard EN50147-1. Upon completion, test results and certificates will be provided for each RF test conducted.
