RF cage

In order for an MRI scanner to operate effectively, it must be housed within a fully enclosed RF cage (Faraday cage) made up of six sides, consisting of floor, ceiling, walls, control window and entrance door.

Our RF cages are meticulously constructed using pure electrically deposited copper fixed to a modular timber frame to ensure structural integrity. Each cage is custom designed, manufactured and installed under strict quality control measures.

All of our RF cages are manufactured to suit individual site requirements. The framework of the cage is manufactured in panels at our premises and then assembled on-site by our trained personnel. Acoustic insulation is incorporated within the cavity of the RF copper wall panels and ceiling panels.

Features

All necessary electrical cables, medical gas pipes and other supplies are discreetly routed through the wall cavities of the RF cage. Additionally, electrical filters and waveguides are used to protect the RF Cage from any outside interference.

Our specially designed doors are manufactured to withstand the rigorous demands of MRI facilities while ensuring reliable functionality with minimal maintenance. These doors meet the required RF attenuation standards and are finished with a high-pressure laminate finish for durability.

The control window features an aluminium frame with a layer of blackened copper mesh with a double-layer safety glass, providing clear visibility for operators.
