Plaster Jointing
Lead plasterboard can be fixed with standard drywall screws.
Up to code 5 lead, the joints can be shielded with lead joint strips.
The lead joint strip is screwed at the head of the stud, unrolled and cut to length. The boards are then overlaid and fixed in the normal way.
Code 6 & 7 boards should be jointed with the use of infill battens.
The batten is inserted into the stud prior to the fixing of the lead board.
Lead plasterboard is only available square edged and should therefore be overlaid with tapered edge boards or finished with a skim coat.
