Cheshire veterinary practice installs full radiation shielding
Bedfordshire-based shielding company Envirotect has supplied structural radiation protection for a CT scanner room at Eden Vets. The new, state-of-the-art, independently owned and operated veterinary practice is based in Shavington, Cheshire. RVN Zoë Van Leth is pictured with a patient.
The contract involved complete room shielding including walls, ceilings, door set and observation window. The ceiling was shielded with code 5 lead-lined plywood and the walls with code 3 lead-lined plasterboard to provide a shielded envelope for the room.
A code 5 radiation shielded leaf and half door set was manufactured in a laminate finish to match the doors throughout the practice. Envirotect also manufactured a code 5 observation window for the control room, which gives clear views of the CT scanner room and the patients.
Envirotect offers an extensive range of affordable radiation shielding products and has been working in the veterinary sector for many years. Large radiation shielded doors for equestrian facilities can also be manufactured.
