Demand rises for mobile x-ray protection screens
Radiation and RF shielding provider Envirotect has remained open throughout the COVID-19 outbreak to support the NHS. Managing director Niven Smith said: “Our NHS is experiencing very high levels of demand and it is more important than ever that we continue with construction of vital work within the healthcare sector.”
While regularly monitoring the guidance issued by the Government, the World Health Organization and Public Health England, Envirotect has put in place a number of procedures to ensure the safety of all employees, Smith explained: “We understand what a vital role we have to play in controlling the spread of this disease. Staff are now working on a rota basis to minimise the number of employees on our premises at one time and we have put strict guidelines in place regarding hygiene control and social distancing in the office, workshop and while working on external sites.”
The company reports an increase in demand for mobile x-ray protection screens. The screens meet the most current NHS infection control standards, are available in a range of sizes and are finished in a durable, wipe clean plastic laminate in a range of colours. Envirotect states: “Mobile x-ray protection screens are a practical alternative for departments that have limited space as the screens can be transferred to another area when not in use.”
Envirotect is still installing its copper radio frequency cages for MRI at various sites around the country and is working with main contractors to ensure health and safety procedures are followed.
